Overview
If you make a lot of listings, you usually have the same terms, header, footer, etc. in all of them. And even if they differ, you'll have lots of them with the same duplicate information. So what happens when you want to go and change this information to keep things up to date? Well if you used this bulk template feature of Random Plaza, then you just go into the template, change the description, and in a minute or two the listings without offers will update. Of the ones with offers, you will then just click the "View Details" link on the main bulk template page, and then copy 50 at a time to the page linked in there that will bulk close and relist your listings.
All the text inserted by bulk templates is put into Random Plaza's search index.
Making bulk templates
Bulk templates are free to use, but you must have greater than 0 internet money in your account to create one, so bulk templates never show up in a free listing.
Using bulk templates in listings
Bulk templates do not function in the title, just description.
It'll be like
and listings will have a note of which ones are in them. Remember that they end in /> and not just /.
Creating and editing bulk templates
When editing, click "update name only" to only change the bulk template's name. This will not affect statistics of which listings are up to date. It also will not alter when the bulk template will expire.
The maximum size per bulk template is 14000 characters (not bytes).
You cannot have a bulk template inside another bulk template.
If you leave the name of your bulk template blank, then the bulk template number is put as the name.
Characters in the bulk template name are filtered in the same way as listing titles and characters in the template text are filtered in the same way as listing descriptions.
Deleting and expiring of bulk templates
A bulk template does not expire if an active listing uses it. When no active listings use it, then the bulk template lasts for 181 days. (Closed listings are deleted after 180 days.) If the bulk template is going to expire, the time that it will expire is reset to 181 days whenever a user updates it by clicking "save".
Bulk templates cannot be deleted if a listing is using them. They can be set as blank, though. If one is not in use, to delete it, (1) go to main Bulk Templates page, (2) click the bulk template's "View Details" link, (3) Click the delete button on the view details page. The delete button will only appear if the bulk template is unused.
