Help with Making Offers on Products

The buyer will be submitting their offer price based on the price per each item before shipping and surcharges. If the seller charges unreasonable excess surcharges, it is considered spamming and against the rules.

If a buyer wants want to buy multiple items, they simply input the price they want to pay for each item and then tell the seller after the seller accepts the offer.

When the seller accepts an offer, the listing does not automatically close in case the seller has multiple items for sale.

Once a buyer makes an offer, the offer amount stays fixed to amount of its value at the time in the seller's chosen currency.

Basics of how it works, philosophy, and features
Now you may know of the benefits of an online auction of how it is supposed to help determine the optimal price of an item of that between what the seller paid for it and what the buyers are willing to pay for it. The problem with it is that auctions require at least people bidding against each other to be effective or it's just like a fixed price item that takes longer to buy.

With a fixed priced system, the problem is there's no negotiation. With a fixed priced system where the buyer can make an offer, it's a completely blind process and so the haggling back and forth is time-consuming.

With our system, the automatic counter-offer will come when your bid is below the amount the seller is willing to sell for or is close to it. This solves the whole problem of blindly haggling and waiting for seller after seller to respond. If you really want to save time, you can do non-binding offers for the same item for a bunch of sellers. If the seller rejects the offer, the buyer rejects the offer, or it's cancelled for some other reason then registered users can see the logged reason why.

Random Plaza also does have the option for auctions. More details are found below. Please scroll down to the heading "Blind Auctions" or text search this article for that phrase.

Making Offers Logged In
The buyer's offer will become pending and the buyer cannot make another offer on the same listing until the offer is accepted or rejected/withdrawn/cancelled. The buyer can withdraw an offer one hour after making it, but once they do so, they can't make an offer to the same seller for 24 hours. Offers both binding and not, if not fully accepted, automatically cancel after thirty days.

Once the seller accepts the buyer's offer, the seller should send the buyer an invoice to the buyer's registered email address, which one can view in from the Change Email Address link in Navigator.

The list of rejected offers goes back thirty days.

Details of accepted offers are kept for 95 days and then deleted. The details are viewable from the "Accepted Offers" link in Navigator. Listings and each listing's main picture stay on this website until 180 days after the seller closes the listing.

Non-binding offers

For example, there's a logged-in buyer, let's call him Charlie. Charlie wants to buy a car. Now he sees all these cars listed on Random Plaza. (Okay, let's pretend there are. Won't someone please list some?) And well he doesn't want to wait around trying to make offers. So he sends non-binding offers to several sellers in his city. Some reject his offer due to it being too low, others reject it due to it being non-binding, and still others accept it.

If he wasn't buying cars, but just buying some generic consumer good, he'd then finalize the one he likes most and reject the rest, but since he's a buying car, there's one more step.

Before finalizing the offers, he then goes to each listing and emails the seller saying he'll be coming around to see the cars. He does it all on the same day so the sellers aren't kept waiting as if they get a binding offer, they may cancel his offer if they only have one of that car. If Charlie finds an undisclosed problem with the car but he still likes it, he can ask for a discount and because Random Plaza has a flat commission fee for selling instead of something percentage-based, it's not a problem for sellers. Charlie eventually finds a car he likes and he buys the car in person. He then goes home and cancels his non-binding offers to the sellers he didn't buy from and finalizes his non-binding offer for the seller he did buy from (or he'd do it at the location if he has a sophisticated enough cell phone. It's best not to log in using the seller's computer though, just in case.) Then in about 30 days, he leaves the seller feedback on how everything was.

Non-binding offers can also be used to go through each seller and initially low-ball them and then gradually increment the offer slowly until a seller accepts it. Doing this is better for generic consumer goods instead of cars or real estate, though.

Making Offers as Anonymous
If the buyer makes their offer without being logged in (anonymously), then they may optionally confirm their email address beforehand. The anonymous buyer also cannot use an email address of a registered user or of someone who set to have their email address blocked.

As anonymous, the buyer cannot exchange feedback with the seller for that transaction. The seller also does not have the option to accept or reject the buyer's offer. Instead:
  • The seller receives an email with:
    • The buyer's email address
    • The buyer's offer amount
    • A unique code that identifies the seller from someone else when emailing the buyer
  • The buyer receives:
    • A unique code so when the seller emails the buyer they know it is the seller. This unique code is always ten characters long, always starts and ends with a number, and has ASCII letters between. This code is displayed on the website. If the buyer confirmed their email address, then the code along with the offer details are emailed to them.

So if the seller accepts the offer, then the seller emails then the buyer with the code, says they accepted the offer, and sends an invoice to the buyer.

If the anonymous buyer makes an offer with an unconfirmed email address, then the seller should first check to make sure the email address belongs to the buyer as the buyer could send someone else's email address or an invalid email address rather than their own.

Anonymous Sellers
If the seller posted a listing without being logged in, then logged in buyers who make offers on that listing will have things function as if they were anonymous buyers with the exception that the logged in buyers don't have to confirm their email.

If the anonymous seller didn't choose to have their offers emailed to them and instead to store and read it on this website, if it results in us storing more than one megabyte then it'll not let anyone make further offers. Our storage of this type of offer data is encoded and minimal size so one megabyte is about 10,000 offers. If you are listing something that would be epic, it's much better to do it logged in as you can renew the listing.

Automatic Counter-Offers
The automatic counter offer works to give buyers an automatic counter-offer while keeping it difficult to guess the seller's low amount. It works for anonymous and logged in users. It gives the buyers the automatic counter-offer instantly and it happens before an anonymous buyer has to confirm their email address because it would really be annoying to them and discourage sales. It also does not leave a log in the buyer or seller's list of offers to view if the buyer does not offer high enough to get past the automatic counter-offer.

Let's say a seller is selling Acme Anvils. Buying them in bulk makes the cost per purchasing with shipping and misc costs to be $50 each, so obviously the seller cannot sell below this amount.

The seller would like to sell them all at $100. In addition, the seller really does not want to make less than a $20 profit ($70 sale) because of the time and work involved in inventory work with a huge anvil and other time involved in the selling the item.

So the seller sets $100 as their preferred price. The seller sets their bottom auto counter-offer amount at $50 and their top auto counter-offer amount at $70.

If the buyer offers equal to or less than the seller's bottom auto counter-offer amount then it will always counter offer. If the buyer offers equal to or greater than the seller's top auto counter-offer amount then it will never counter offer, but the seller must still manually accept the offer. But if the buyer offers between the top and bottom auto counter-offer amounts then the automatic counter offer happens at random.

So if a buyer comes and makes an offer for $61 on the same seller's Acme Anvil, then this website will see that it is between the seller's bottom and top auto counter-offer amounts so it will generate a random number between 50 and 70. (The closer the offer is to the top auto-counter offer amount, the less likely it will be auto counter-offered.) Then either one of these happen:
a) If this random number is greater than what the buyer offered, then it will automatically give the buyer a counter offer that is between the seller's top auto counter-offer amount and the seller's preferred price. So the buyer will get a random counter-offer between $70 and $100. The buyer will then get an offer box with that amount in it and can try a new offer and see what comes up. This is kind of like an automated version of haggling.
b) If this number is less than or equal to what the buyer offered, then the buyer's offer goes to the seller who can then decide if they want to accept the offer with factors being things such as if it is large enough, if they think buyer seems trustworthy (e.g. checking feedback), if they're not suddenly out of stock, etc.

When creating listings, both bottom and top range must be filled out to use the automatic counter-offer system. To not use this, just leave them blank.

To buyers: while it is possible to try for a long time to get through an offer very near the lowest auto counter-offer amount where it does not auto counter-offer, it is quite likely that lowballing a seller will result in them rejecting your offer.

Blind Auctions
If the seller isn't just selling an ordinary consumer product but say a rare painting then they can set the preferred price at somewhere near one hundred billlion euro (100,000,000,000). So when you want to look for auctions only, set the minimum preferred price to this. Another option would be that the seller would price it much lower than this in a normal range for the product and then say it's an auction, but that if you offer their maximum amount, they may just accept your offer immediately.

The title and/or top of listing description also should clearly and noticeably state that it is a blind auction so it's easy and fast for buyers to tell it's an auction.

Then potential customers would make offers for several weeks and the seller would sell to whoever they wish. That is why offers do not automatically expire until thirty days. For a blind auction, the seller can even keep the listing active after they accepted the first buyer's offer. So if the first buyer does not pay, the seller can then offer it to their next choice of buyer. To take best advantage of this, the seller should run the duration a week or two shorter than thirty days. Anonymous offer don't have the thirty day limit, but you'd obviously have to contact each anonymous bidder to let them know their bid was counted and you'll let them know when the auction is over if they end up being the highest bid -- or they'll think you're not interested in them, delete the email with the seller's identification code, and buy the item elsewhere.

With our blind auctions, there's no dealing with not many people bidding against each other so bids don't go high. You can use the automatic counter-offers to set a minimum bid. You also will have auctions with no snipe bidding or shill bidding.

Misc Questions and Answers

Q: As a seller, I would still like a way to block people who make offers just to be annoying.
A: They can't hurt your feedback; they can just be annoying. If you are able to block them from making offers or if they get suspended and they want to annoy you, they'll make lots of new accounts and then this site would have its database cluttered with throw-away usernames, resulting in all the good usernames being taken.

Q: Somebody sent a bunch of offers as an anonyous buyer without confirming their email address, but they did not put their own email address and instead put mine. How do I stop this?
A: First option is to register for an account. Second option is to go here, send a confirmation code to your email address, and then click the notabigtruck.php link to set your email address to be blocked.

You've got to be kidding me. I've been further even more decided to use even go need to do look more as anyone can. Can you really be far even as decided half as much to use go wish for that? My guess is that when one really been far even as decided once to use even go want, it is then that he has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like. It's just common sense.

At the end of the tax year, the IRS office sent an inspector to audit the books of a local hospital. While the IRS agent was checking the books he turned to the CFO of the hospital and said, "I notice you buy a lot of bandages. What do you do with the end of the roll when there's too little left to be of any use?"

"Good question," noted the CFO. "We save them up and send them back to the bandage company and every now and then they send us a free box of bandages."

"Oh," replied the auditor, somewhat disappointed that his unusual question had a practical answer. But on he went, in his obnoxious way.

"What about all these plaster purchases? What do you do with what's left over after setting a cast on a patient?"

"Ah, yes," replied the CFO, realizing that the inspector was trying to trap him with an unanswerable question . "We save it and send it back to the manufacturer, and every now and then they send us a free package of plaster."

"I see," replied the auditor, thinking hard about how he could fluster the know-it-all CFO. "Well," he went on, "What do you do with all the leftover foreskins from the circumcisions you perform?"

"Here, too, we do not waste," answered the CFO. "What we do is save all the little foreskins and send them to the IRS Office, and about once a year they send us a complete dick."

The Ballad of Agent Pubeit

Brave Agent Pubeit, Agent Pubeit was very brave
Watch ye friends and ye shall see that he will win the day
Deep underground with stone and trains, Vaseline was applied
We handed him pubes, so many pubes, so he may complete his guise
The path to victory and win, paved with pubes accumulated
from the anonymous horde they came to him, fail he could not afford
the various pubes they stuck to him from the Vaseline he put on before

Brave Agent Pubeit came up from underground
Covered in Vaseline and pubes, he emerged proud
40 degrees in the streets, the streets
here's where we got the call,
Agent Pubeit the brave was on his way, free of delays and stalls
verily he traveled on his way, the brave the brave the quick
to the Church of Scientology to tell them to suck his dick
the many they stared afraid they were for a thing they have not seen
slippery and covered in pubic hair was the way it had to be

Meanwhile back at our the base the attack had already begun
Prank calls and our various faxes would ensure the battle was won
A dozen proud preceded him serving to distract
Incessant and vicious our calls they were, offensive and horrible our fax

BRAVE Agent Pubeit, he was about to arrive
At the Church of Scientology, his target could not hide
Touch everyone and everything once he runs inside
Pubes on their hands as they go to grab the gross slippery pube-covered guy

Brave Agent Pubeit, Agent Pubeit ran away
He knocked over shit and he got our pubes all over the place
He touched three guys and they found out, how slippery one man could be
He spread confusion and our dickhair, with his touch of Vaseline

His mission complete it may seem, but there was more
Three blocks away awaited another Scientology org
The buildings two he strikes at thee, as he has once before
The CLO headquarters did not know what they had in store

Radioed in we attacked our target number two
Let the enemies know that with them, Anonymous was not through
Off the hook their phones rang as we directed our second push
Agent Pubeit will soon come their way and deliver upon them some bush

Brave Agent Pubeit, safely got away
Scientology we strike at thee because you're fucking gay
Your buildings both we hath spread, our agent covered in pubes
Remember this day we have delivered Operation: Slickpubes.

In Saudi Arabia, they had a beauty pagent where all the girls were covered in clothes and veils where you couldn't see them at all and instead of beauty competition, they tested them on their morals.

ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/090724/world/saudi_women_beauty_offbeat

Feminists always complain that beauty pagents objectify women. Well the Saudi version actually doesn't.
